News from LINk

Hackney Local Involvement Network (Hackney LINk) is the independent body which enables local people to influence local health and adult social care services.

We work to improve the quality of local care services and to hold the people who run them to account.

We help local people to get involved in the planning and monitoring of these services. We also obtain the views of local people about these services and produce reports and recommendations.

In March 2010 we produced a report on the proposals for changes to hospital services in north east London. We have recently produced a report on the reorganisation of GP services in Hackney.

The people who provide local care services are required by law to respond to our reports and recommendations and to our requests for information. We also have a special legal power to enter care facilities in order to see for ourselves what is going on.

We work actively and collaboratively with Homerton Hospital to monitor its services and to recommend improvements in the quality and safety of those services.

Membership of Hackney LINk is open to individuals who are resident in Hackney or benefit from local care services (as users or carers) and to voluntary organisations with an interest in promoting effective care services in the borough.  Our staff provides support and training for members.

If you would like to join us in working to improve local health and adult social care services, or if you would simply like to know more about us, please get in touch with us using the contact details below.
