An exhibition on loan from the British Library. Free exhibition runs until March 21st at the British Library.

Over 40 amazing 19th century photographs depicting portraits, everyday life, science and technology, travel, zoology, medicine and art have been compiled by the British Library’s Curator of Photographs for Homerton Hospital.

The images are being shown continuously on the plasma screen in the Trust’s main reception area. The photographs offer a fascinating glimpse into a bygone world and chronicle with amazing detail photography’s first century.

Some of the earliest photographs of London, taken in the 1840’s provide us with remarkable insight into how the world looked then. This presentation is part of an ongoing programme of showing exhibitions on the Trust’s plasma screen provided by some of the capital’s greatest museums and collections.
