There are clear processes for policy development and ratification in the organisation, and all policies are developed or updated in accordance with national guidance and local priorities.
Clinical policies are developed by the appropriate department, reviewed by the Clinical Governance Lead and/or an expert panel from the specialty involved and ratified by the Trust Policy Group.
Non-clinical policies are developed by the appropriate department, reviewed and approved by the Board sub-committee responsible for the area of interest, eg. health and safety policies reviewed by the Risk Committee, and ratified by the Trust Policy Group.
All policies are subject to rigorous review and are revised as necessary on a regular scheduled basis.
