Services available
Everyone has different needs, so we take an individual approach to help. We can offer guided self help, one day courses and “talking therapy”, using an approach called “Cognitive Behavioural Therapy” (CBT).
CBT is based on scientific principles that research has shown to be effective for a wide range of difficulties. The therapist will work with you to help identify and understand your problems and how they affect your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. This approach focuses on the difficulties you’re experiencing as well as strategies and goals for overcoming them.
Guided Self-Help allows you to try out ways of building confidence, getting motivated and reducing stress. You can meet with therapists in person and/or talk with them over the telephone.
We offer a range of one day courses, focussing on topics such as stress management and sleep problems. These are group-based sessions where you learn techniques to help you manage your difficulties. You are not expected to discuss your problems with other people in the class unless you wish to.
Talking Therapy involves meeting with a therapist face to face. It provides an opportunity to work in more depth with problems, often focussing on how thinking patterns and previous experiences have an impact on current difficulties.
