We deal with all aspects of emergency care. If you require your patients to be seen by a speciality team please bleep the registrar on call via switchboard. Urgent referral specialities include medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics, gynaecology and psychiatry.
Psychiatric patients will be directed towards the emergency clinic, open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Patients who need to be seen by a gynaecologist will be directed to the emergency gynaecology/pregnancy assessment unit. This includes patients who are 16 weeks pregnant or less and who have experienced pain and/or bleeding. This service is available Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm.
Waiting times vary from day-to-day we endeavour to ensure that all patients are seen quickly and efficiently.
All patients referred by GPs receive a full nursing assessment and treatment pathways instigated (analgesia, bloods, X-rays) on arrival. We do operate a priority system which does means some referrals may have to wait longer than others.
