We run three different structured education programmes for people with type 2 diabetes - EDDI, X-PERT and X-PERT Insulin.

EDDI
EDDI (Education for Diabetes) is a structured education programme for people newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.  The programme consists of two afternoon or morning sessions, with self-directed learning in between. EDDI is offered to patients who attend the new patient clinic, or they can be referred directly by their GP or practice nurse. Referrals are taken for people who have had diabetes diagnosed for less than 12 months.

X-PERT

XD HandbookX-PERT is a six week programme for anyone with type 2 diabetes, no matter how long they have been diagnosed. The course is run at Hackney Diabetes Centre or at GP surgeries. We provide the programme in both English and Turkish languages. The course runs for three hours per week for six weeks.

Attending the X-PERT programme will increase patients' knowledge skills and understanding of their condition and help them to make lifestyle choices to manage their blood glucose levels more effectively.
