See how Project Search is delivering

Project Search, a programme designed to support young people with learning disabilities into paid employment, was launched by Homerton in 2018.  In partnership with the local authority, Homerton offered 9 young people the opportunity to undertake placements across the organisation between September 2018-May 2019.  All 9 interns from the programme graduated and 2 were offered paid positions within the Trust at the end of the programme.

The pilot was so successful that a second cohort of 10 interns started in the Trust in September 2019.  Placements have taken place in a range of departments including Maternity, Healthcare Records, Outpatients, Workforce, Occupational Health, Sexual Health, Procurement, Chatters Restaurant and WH Smith.
