Critical care outreach service
The function of the team is to support acutely ill adults, those recovering from critical illness and those at risk of physiological deterioration, their families and teams throughout the hospital.
Our aim:
- avert admission to the ITU
- facilitate transfers from the ITU
- transfer critical care skills to ward teams
Referrals are accepted Monday to Friday, 07.30-20.00.
Method of referral
Referral to the Critical Care Outreach Service is via bleep 179 only. The referral criteria are available on every Adult Observations Chart.
