The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service
How we can help
The Macmillan Information and Support Service provides a confidential comprehensive information service to anyone affected by cancer. Whether you’re a patient, family member, friend or carer, we are here to support you from diagnosis, throughout treatment and living beyond cancer.
We are here to help you with practical, emotional and social concerns by offering a range of support services. These include:
- information on living with cancer, treatment and side effects
- a range of support groups and health and wellbeing events for people living with cancer—throughout treatment and beyond
- signposting to support services locally and nationally
- emotional support
- welfare benefits and housing advice
- information on practical matters such as money, work and travel
- signposting to support groups, health and social care services
- information on lifestyle and wellbeing topics such as healthy eating and physical activity
- some of our resources are available in different formats. We offer telephone and email enquiry services.
Opening hours
The Macmillan Service is based at the main entrance of the hospital. We co-share the space with PALS. We are open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am until 4pm. We are closed on the weekends and bank holidays.
It is a drop-in service, although we recommend that you call us before you visit to ensure that someone is available for you to see. You can also book an appointment if you would prefer.
