Paediatric asthma
Our paediatric asthma service provides family centred care to children aged 0-15 years within City & Hackney. We assess & treat children and young people with viral wheeze, multi trigger wheeze and asthma.
Our team consists of an asthma lead paediatric consultant, general paediatric consultants and respiratory liaison nurse.
We also liaise closely with our colleagues in the dermatology and allergy services, as required. We are committed to providing a high standard of care and empowering all our patients and their families to self-manage their condition, to avoid hospital admissions with viral induced wheeze or asthma attacks.
We strive ensure that our patients receive co-ordinated care by providing expert advice, diagnostic tests and important education all within a single visit to our asthma clinic. Our respiratory nurse liaises closely with GP’s, health visitors and school nurses to enable sharing of asthma care plans to support self- management within the community.
Our services
The services we offer include outpatient clinics, diagnostic testing within our asthma clinic and home visits in complex cases.
