The Hackney Healthy Eating & Obesity Service

Currently we offer a modified version of our Alive N Kicking Programme group sessions via video call or a series of 6 1:1 sessions via video or telephone call depending on the service users’ preference and needs. The 1:1 sessions have been the most popular and we are seeing promising outcomes for those who engage.
As a Tier 2 weight management service for children, we are still welcoming any referrals for children who are above a healthy weight (>91st centile) and  who have either a Hackney postcode, or are registered at a Hackney school or GP at this time. Alternatively, the family are able to self-refer and can find more details  on our website or call Szilvi on 07849 092 185.
What will families receive as part of The Hackney Healthy Eating & Obesity Service during the COVID19 pandemic?

  • Help and advice on topics including healthy eating, behaviour change, nutrition and wellbeing.
  • Group or 1:1 support via video call or telephone (Whilst 1:1 sessions are usually offered only to families of children with SEND, during lockdown we have extra capacity to offer 1:1 virtual sessions to all referrals who would prefer not to join a virtual group.)
  • Signposting to enjoyable activities that can be done at home  such as  weekly recipe challenges to develop practical skills and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  • Online exercise classes to encourage participants to become more active and stay active.

If you have any queries or would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact us via email or on 07849 092 185.
