Secretary of State for Health and Social Care visits Homerton Healthcare
Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust welcomed the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Yvette Cooper, on Thursday 13 August.
During her visit, the Secretary of State met staff and heard about the Trust's work delivering both hospital and community services, as well as the benefits of closer working between health, social care and wider community partners.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss some of the key challenges and opportunities facing health and care services and to showcase the work taking place across Homerton to improve treatment and care for local people.
Bas Sadiq, Chief Executive and Place based leader said:
"We were pleased to welcome the Secretary of State to Homerton and for her to speak directly to some of the dedicated staff who care for our communities every day.
"The visit provided an opportunity to showcase not only the work of our staff, but also the strength of the partnerships that underpin the care we provide. As an integrated trust, we know that we do not deliver care alone. The outcomes people experience are the result of organisations working together, including primary care, the London Borough of Hackney, the City of London, East London NHS Foundation Trust and our voluntary sector partners.
"Working together across health, social care and community services helps us provide more joined-up support for local people, and we welcomed the opportunity to discuss both the challenges facing the NHS and the opportunities to continue improving care for patients and communities."
