The Simulation Centre offers a very busy programme of courses across the year under the guidance of Sini John, the Simulation and Clinical Skills Lead Specialist and Centre Manager, TPD's and Simulation fellows.

In situ simulation
These are simulations that occur in the actual clinical environment and whose participants are on-duty clinical providers during their actual workday.
We run regular in situ simulations in various wards/departments such as ACU, ED, paediatrics, neonatal, maternity, medical wards and endoscopy. Feedback has been fantastic and multidisciplinary candidates are enjoying the opportunity to practice with their colleagues in their workplaces. There is a rota in place for the in situ simulations. If you would like to get involved please contact the simulation team and or if you would like a similar project to run in your department get in touch and we will happily help you to plan one.
In situ simulation is a good opportunity to identify latent errors. If you identify them, while running the in situ simulation please inform the nurse in charge or ward manager at the earliest opportunity to rectify this. Please complete the Latent risk identification form as well in addition to this and send it to huh.tr-simulation@nhs.net.
