Our Achievements This YearIt’s been a busy and inspiring few months at Homerton Hope. Together, we’ve achieved so much:
Targeted Health Outreach are a small team based at Hackney Ark, working with 14-25-year-olds with SEND on improving health, wellbeing and independence. Homerton Hope have been a huge support to our little team and the young people we work with, supporting us with funding and funding bids for a number of wellbeing projects. Over the past two years we have been running ‘Nature Connection’ a group for young Autistic people who are experiencing Emotionally Based School Non Attendance (EBSNA), using nature based interventions to help improve mood, reduce isolation and deepen a connection to the natural world - the group have enjoyed learning how to light fires, whittle, build swings and sweet pea tipis, identify plants and trees, forage and cook over the campfire without help from Homerton Hope we could not have gotten this group off the ground.
“I believe that this group has done so much for my child and their mental health and giving them a new lease of life. ”With Homerton Hope’s support we have been able to offer a range of activities in the school holidays from day trips to Southend, where some young people swam in the sea for the first time in their lives, to tickets to the legendary local pantomime at the Hackney Empire.

Supporter Spotlight: Jon’s Story When Jon’s granddaughter Olivia was born prematurely, she spent her first days in Homerton’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
“The care and kindness we experienced in those early days will never be forgotten,” Jon recalls. “The nurses, doctors, and staff went above and beyond to make us feel supported.” Those early moments left a lasting impact. As Olivia grew stronger, Jon remained deeply grateful for the exceptional care she received during such a critical time.
Years later, Olivia is thriving. Now beginning her university studies at the University of Kent and recently appointed a Student Ambassador, she continues to make her family proud with her determination and positivity.
Jon continues to give back. His regular donations to Homerton Hope are a heartfelt expression of thanks.
“Seeing her thriving now reminds us how crucial that care was,” he says. “Supporting Homerton Hope is our way of saying thank you and helping other families receive the same support we did.” |
